Dear President Biden and Vice President Harris:
My name is [NAME] and I am a resident of [CITY/STATE] as well as a MOSAEC reader.
I appreciate the work that your Administration has done so far to advocate for the release of Brittney Griner, Paul Whelan, and other Americans that are wrongfully detained abroad. However, more is required.
The Russian court’s recent decision to sentence Brittney Griner to a 9-year prison term is unconscionable. I stand in solidarity with Brittney because I see my daughter, my sister, and my best friend in her.
I urge the Biden/Harris Administration to redouble its efforts to bring Brittney home. In the interim, I request that you remain accountable to her family and those of other detained Americans. Specifically, please make every effort to ensure that scheduled familial calls, consular access, and clergy visits occur as planned.
October 18th is Brittney’s 32nd birthday. Please do what you can so that she can celebrate her special day with those she loves and those who love her even more.
