
James A. Garfield National Historic Site was authorized as a unit of the National Park System by an Act of Congress on December 28, 1980. It consists of 7.82 acres and contains the home owned by James A. Garfield, 20th President of the United States, and his wife, Lucretia Rudolph Garfield. The property now consists of the home, visitor center, and several outbuildings.
